Catch the Spirit of Camp! Welcome or welcome back to YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow (CFA). We’re proud to offer you and your family a camp experience enhanced by our mission and values! CFA prides itself on many things like exciting activities, beautiful location and excellent staff; however, our true pride is our focus on our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith.
We've been camping in the Hill Country since 1927! CFA has been serving participants with mission based programming for over 80 years. The mission of the YMCA of Greater San Antonio is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Our camping goal is to provide campers a camp experience rich in tradition centered on the five core values, caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith, allowing the camper to gain independence and a higher self worth and life long memories.
CFA offers many opportunities for the whole family to escape to a serene location. First, there is traditional summer camp for youth 8-15. Then there is our leadership development programs for 16 & 17 year olds, Starter Camp for 6-8 year olds and Friends & Family Camp! Friends & Family camp is a three day, two night camping experience for the whole family providing an affordable get-a-way from the hustle and bustle of every day life. And from August to May, we offer many opportunities for retreat programming from weekend retreats to one day team events. With Summer Resident Camp as the main focus as well as a Weekend Retreats and Conferencing during the off season, CFA serves over 3000 people a year.
YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow, a YMCA of Greater San Antonio branch, was established in 1927 as the San Antonio YMCA Boys Camp. The name YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow was adopted in the early 1970s with the addition to girls to the program. With 213 acres and almost a mile of river front on the south fork of the Guadalupe River, YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow has been a strong hold for YMCA Camping in the Texas Hill Country. CFA has pride in its service of persons of all ages, ethnic groups and religious affiliations through its history. With our strong scholarship program has also been able to give children and families that are less fortunate an opportunity to feel the spirit of resident camp.
