The purpose of Y School Age is to provide an affordable after school childcare at the school site. This program is specifically designed to meet the needs and interests of school age children and their families, and is licensed as a child care center by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) and Texas Dept. of Health where applicable.

About Our Program: Trained YMCA staff will care for your child, provide snack and have planned activities in an enriching environment. This program is specifically designed to meet the needs and interests of school age children and their families, and is licensed as a child car e center by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and Texas Department of Health where applicable. Enrollment is open to any child, ages 5-13 years old who is a student of the school in which the site is located. Children with special needs are accepted, provided the program can meet the needs of the child.
Curriculum: YMCA Character Development is interwoven through all curriculum components and focuses on the positive core values as well as an appreciation of healthy living habits. Children enjoy activities centered around a weekly curriculumpresented through learning zones. The curriculum allows for a variety of experiences teaching character development, science, music, creative art, drama, literacy, and active play.
Snack Time: A light snack will be served daily. Children may bring their own snacks provided the snacks are fresh, unopened and do not require any preparation or refrigeration. Snack menus are posted at each school.
Registration Fee: $30.00 per yr./per family, ifyou are not a facility member of the YMCA. There is no registration fee if you are a member already.
Cost: Monthly tuition will be calculated in 9 equal installments starting September. The tuition for August is $65.00. Every month beginning in September is $190.00. All bills are mailed out on the 15th of each month for the following month tuition. All payments are due on or before the 1st of each month. Late notices are sent out on the 3rd working day with late fee of $15.00. All bills must be paid prior to services being rendered. If you are in need of financial assistance please apply at your YMCA office.
Financial Assistance:Financial assistance is awarded in accordance to your family's financial need and funds availability through our OPEN DOORS program. For more information about our financial assistance program, please click HERE.
Hours: Monday-Friday; 2:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. & Early Release Days
Holidays: When school is not in session due to school holidays or in-service days, the YMCA offers full-day child care (day camp) Please note that no care will be provided on YMCA holidays.
Comments & Concerns: Parents' comments and questions to discuss any concerns about policies and procedures are always welcome. YMCA staff should be notified of any concerns of difficulties regarding a child's care or any aspect of the program. Please feel free to visit or participate in the Y School Age Program at any time during hours of operation.
