CFA Youth Receives Award! One of our most heart warming stories for the 2007 Campaign comes from a 8 year old camper, Maddy. Maddy, along with her mother, mailed letters to friends and family requesting that they help by donating. Maddie choose to send her letters on butterfly paper because "You go to camp a caterpillar and you leave a butterfly." Maddy then followed up with a hand written thank you letter to all her donors. Due to her efforts, the YMCA of Greater San Antonio and Camp Flaming Arrow presented her with the Youth in Philanthropy award. Maddy and her mother have raised over $1000 this year! Way to go Maddy!

We would like to also acknowledge our Board of Directors for their hard work and commitment to camp, the campaign and our success. More directly, we would like to thank John Kocurek for his efforts, soliciting nearly 1/3 of our goal in pledges.

D.O.G The D.O.G. for President Challenge! If every camper donates at least $1 to D.O.G.'s campaign, then he will have enough money to maintain his President Status!Campers -we DOUBLE D.O.G. DARE you to put your change together for D.O.G.! Parents-call to see how you can help too.

Buy your very own D.O.G. mini me! The first lot will have numbered tags so you know you have an official first order dog! A portion of all proceeds will be placed in our Y Partners Scholarship Fund! We expect to have the doll in hand by Summer Camp. Preorders to begin soon - watch the site for updates! You can purchase your doll and have it waiting for your camper on opening day!

D.O.G. for President: In 2007, D.O.G. campaigned to become the first four legged president by earning enough Y Partners money to help kids attend camp!  As we prepare for summer 2008, we once again begin our Y Partners campaign to raise money for camper scholarships. What is Y Partners?  Y Partners is the YMCA of Greater San Antonio’s annual scholarship campaign. The money donated to CFA’s Y Partners campaign helps children in need attend camp on a scholarship. Many of these children would never be able to feel the joy and spirit of camp without financial assistance. What is the President’s Club? Any donor of $600-$999 becomes a member of the President’s Club. Our President and CEO, Baron Herdelin-Doherty, might have a hard time bringing D.O.G. to the President’s lunch, but we’re sure a special treat can be arranged-like his very own ice cream! Community Heroes- Be a Hero Today!   Y Partners 2008.  Donate now and help change a child’s life forever!

While D.O.G. for president is a way for the campers to be involved, parents are asked to give in support of sending another child to camp. So we urge you to think of others and give enough to send a child to camp; however, no amount is too small.

If you would like to donate to help CFA and D.O.G. assist kids in coming to camp, please send a check made out to: YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow, memo line: “D.O.G. for President” to YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow, PO Box 770, Hunt, TX 78024. Learn more about Y Partners. Call us if you have any questions! We would be happy to talk with you. Thanks-Bill and Allison Hinton. 830-238-4631
