Summer Staff Packing Guide

What to Pack

Please see the recommended clothing list for suggested items. Remember you will be a role model for hundreds of children this summer. In other words, bring appropriate clothing, but also think FUN!!! Kids love wacky clothes, hats, etc. Enough clothing for about two weeks is needed. Remember, this is a Camp program. We DO NOT recommend buying new items or expensive clothing just for Camp.

Bedding
sheets (twin) and a light blanket
pillow and pillow case
sleeping bag

Clothing
Theme Clothing (see Session Themes)
socks
underwear
shorts, including nice khaki or tan pair for opening /closing day
jeans or long pants
modest swimsuits (no 2 pieces for women or Speedo style for men)
t-shirts or shirts (no midriffs showing) Camp will provide a shirt for each day of the week.
sweatshirt
tennis shoes
shower shoes or flip flops (allowed only at the pool or cabins)
sandals with heel strap (teva style)
1 raincoat or poncho
pajama's
cap or hat for sun protections
sunglasses

Other Items
Water bottle with a strap
Personal Toiletries
flashlight
Footlocker/Plastic storage containers (under the bed containers work great)
insect repellent
beach towel for swimming
backpack or small bag
sunscreen SPF 15 or greater and water/sweat proof
laundry bag
Laundry detergent and softener
Alarm clock
Bandanas
envelopes and postcards, writing materials

Optional Items
Bible/devotional material
Camera/Film
Hiking or riding boots
Camelback
Head lamp flashlight
Baby wipes
Hand sanitizers
Items to decorate your cabins (must be easily removed and leave no mark ) Chalk can be used on cabin doors and bunks

What NOT Pack

Staff or campers are not allowed to wear offensive or inappropriate clothing.  Please do not bring any of the following to camp:

-glass bottles or jars
-spray/aerosol cans
-fireworks
-bikinis, midriffs, halter tops, spaghetti strap tanks
-guns, ammunition, knives
-make-up, perfumes, etc
-radios, tape player, CD players, video games, camcorders
-practical joke devices
-illegal drugs, alcohol, tobacco
-Pornography, inappropriate reading material
-Expensive jewelry or other items
-ANY THING YOU WOULDN’T WANT LOST, BROKEN OR STOLEN
