Youth Development

child care

Today there are many demands on our families, and there has been an increased focus on early brain development. Our families need all the support they can get to nurture the potential of their youth. Here at the Boerne YMCA, our child care and after-school programs focus on holistically nurturing child development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn foundational educational, relational, motor and emotional skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

 Childwatch

Children will engage with staff and their peers while you exercise or connect with others over shared interests.

Child Watch is more than just a safe place to look after your children. Our Child Watch program offers children and infants the chance to get the most out of their own visit to the Y through interacting and being physically active.

Child Watch is offered as a free service for our members who have a family membership. Children and infants may stay at Child Watch for up to two hours per session. Parents/guardians are the only adults authorized to sign children in and out. Parent/guardians are required to remain on-site at the Y during their child's visit.

CHILD WATCH IS OPEN MONDAY-FRIDAY 8AM-1PM AND 4PM-8PM

*Hours subject to change during major holidays

Y-Land

Y ChildWatch Staff will take your children to Y-Land to play on the beautiful indoor play area. Y-Land is a program area designed to encourage children to exercise through play. During open hours, our caring staff monitor children as they climb, slide, and play in the two-story treehouse!

Y-Land is FREE for members and open during facility hours.
Y-Land is also available for birthday party rentals.

KidZ Club

Kidz Club is a supervised program for children ages 7-12 years, designed to encourage children to develop skills through games, craft-making and gross motor play. There is a 2 hour limit in Kids Club. Parent(s) or a responsible adult (18 yrs. and older) must remain in the facility at all times. If a child is not signed into Kidz Club, they will not be directly supervised by Y Staff.
