Kelly's mom truly is her inspiration for becoming a personal trainer. Her mother has been handicap since childhood and instilled in her the importance of never taking your health for granted. This has always given Kelly the motivation to understand the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Kelly has a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern State University. She is nationally certified by ACE (American Council on Exercise). Kelly has helped people with obesity, high blood pressure and high cholesterol become healthier. She also enjoys the high energy, high intensity workouts of boot camp for members who enjoy taking the gym outside for a fun challenge. "I believe it is important to incorporate exercises that will provide the strength, stability and mobility needed for everyday life in all my exercise programs. I love being able to affect people in a positive way through fitness and encourage them by finding fun and challenging ways to help them become healthier."
Kelly also has a certifcate unique to our Y. She is a certified Level 1 and 2 TRX instructor. TRX uses your own body weight and forces of gravity to create resistance. The intensity of a workout is easily adjustable by changing the angle of the body relative to the TRX. Therefore the TRX is extremely appropriate for all ages and abilities. Movements using the TRX integrate strength and balance into a single dynamic format. Because the users hands or feet are supported by a single anchor point while the opposite end is on the ground the center of gravity is displaced which activates all the core muscles all the time. There are hundreds of possible exercises you can use to keep your workouts safe, fun and effective.
Kelly's philosophy in training is simple: our physical bodies are connected to our emotional and spiritual states of being and when healthy, we are better able to manage stress and have less tendency to feel down and irritated. Her goal is to help clients find a balance in all aspects of their life through improving their health so they can be more confident, energetic and successful.
