I Learned it at camp!
Camp, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. Few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities.
Specialty Camps

Select Y branches offer activities that focus on particular programming such as cooking, art, outdoor activities, sports and swimming. All skill levels are welcome and instructors engage children in fun activities while guiding them with praise and encouragement. Dates and activities vary according to each Y branch. Summer Day Camp
Summer Day Camp offers benefits similar to traditional camp—new experiences, physical activity and character development—but allows campers to return home each afternoon. Offered at one of the BISD elementary campuses, Y Day Camp boasts weekly field trips and age-appropriate activities designed to help children, ages 5 to 13, develop self-confidence and personal empowerment. Camp is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) or Texas Department of State Health (TDH) and eligible for third-party child care reimbursements. Registration for day camp is available for the entire summer, for the weeks needed, or even for a day.
