The modern day Ciclovía originated in Bogotá, Colombia 30 years ago. Bogotá began their program with 8 miles of open streets. Ciclovía was so popular, today, they open over 70 miles of car-free streets to their citizens and connect city parks to provide green spaces for Reclovías.
Betina is a San Antonio native whose journey to a healthier life style began at the first Síclovía on October 2, 2011. Listen to her story on how Síclovía changed her life. Click HERE
Twenty of the 100 donated bikes will go to Mayor's Fitness Council Student Ambassadors. These students will assist the YMCA in promoting bike safety in the community. There will be two drawings, one at 12pm and one at 2pm. At each time, 40 bikes will be given to the general public for a total of 80 FREE bikes. To be entered, pick up an entry form at any Reclovia, fill it out and return to the SafeLite AutoGlass Bike Area (TBD) at least 15 minutes prior to the drawing. Winners must be present to claim bicycle or another name will be drawn after. We'd like to thank Safelite AutoGlass for their generous donation.
