Siclovia March 25

March 29, 2015. 11 a.m to 4 p.m

What is Síclovía?

Síclovía is a free event that turns major city streets in to a safe place for people to exercise and play. The streets become temporarily car-free for about 5 hours on Sundays for families to run, ride bikes, take exercise classes and enjoy their city streets.

The modern day Ciclovía originated in Bogotá, Colombia 30 years ago. Bogotá began their program with 8 miles of open streets. Ciclovía was so popular, today, they open over 70 miles of car-free streets to their citizens and connect city parks to provide green spaces for Reclovías.

What participants are saying about Síclovía..

Strong comes in all sizes!

"Stella Grace knows that to be strong has less to do with physical size and more to do with staying active and eating right! She has learned the importance of a balanced diet and exercising from an early age; so much so, that she has her mom eating all of her vegetables before getting up from the table! Stella would love if there were a Síclovía every Sunday because she had a blast learning while playing! She will be rounding up all her friends to attend the next event!"—Alexis

3 Generations!

"Who wouldn't want to be healthier, in shape, and have fun?!? Where does one start? Siclovia!! It has changed my whole family! Here we are celebrating my mom's 60th birthday this last Siclovia. We are three generations with plenty of positive changes because of Siclovia. From losing weight, getting fit, learning how to ride bikes, and living a healthier lifestyle— it is just the start! We can check our BMI, tryout new workouts, learn to cook healthier meals, and get tons of freebies! This family will never be the same and we couldn't be happier!" - Kathleen Velasquez
