Strong Beginnings Bright Futures
The YMCA’s Early Learning Center serves as a vital early childhood hub for families in San Antonio’s community. Located in an area with high economic need, the center provides licensed, year-round early learning and care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally intentional environment.
Grounded in the YMCA’s mission to strengthen youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the center focuses on preparing children for long-term academic and social success. Highly trained educators deliver research-based curriculum that supports social-emotional learning, language development, early literacy and numeracy, and age-appropriate physical activity. Each child receives individualized attention designed to foster confidence, curiosity, and school readiness.
The Early Learning Center also plays a crucial role in family stability. With extended hours designed for working parents, the center enables caregivers to sustain employment, pursue education, or address family needs while knowing their children are receiving high-quality care. Financial assistance is offered through the YMCA’s Open Doors program, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to access for low-income and vulnerable families.
YMCA programs provide children with experiences that encourage:
- School readiness
- Social interaction with peers and adults
- Self-expression and communication
- Positive self-esteem and self-image
- Large and small muscle development
- Intellectual growth
We accept applications for enrollment without regard to ethnicity, religion, color, sex, national origin, marital status, or political belief.
